Photo Assignment 6

In this assignment I had to take a picture of a building and highlight the architectural features of the building and structure.

ISO= 1600
Shutter Speed= 1/1600
Aperture= f/8

From this assignment I learned that when you change your angles and where you are standing when you take a picture of the building, it can change the whole picture. So just a little movement can make big changes and make the picture look a lot cooler.

Gimp School Context

In this assignment we had to take a picture of the school and add other things to it to change the context. We had to use the different tools in Gimp to make it look as realistic as possible.

From this assignment I learned that it can be difficult to change the context of a picture and that it really takes a lot of imagination.

Photo Assignment 5 (Macro)

In this assignment we had to use the Macro setting on the camera and take photos. The photos are supposed to reveal details not often seen.

Iso=1600
Shutter Speed=1/25
Aperture=f/8

From this assignment I learned that focusing and making sure the picture isn't blurry can be very difficult. But if you get it right then it had a cool effect on the photo.

Photography Assignment 4 (Light Painting)

In this assignment we had to take a light painting picture of an object framed in light. You had to take a photo in a dark room and use different lights to showcase the object.

ISO= 200
Aperture= 3.5
Shutter Speed= 6 sec

During this assignment I learned that light painting is a lot more difficult than it looks. It is hard to get the right lighting and to get everything to look right. It is especially difficult, even impossible to get a good light painting picture with a moving object. I also learned that you need a thin light not a broad one.

Panoramic Gimp Assignment

In this assignment we had to take 3 separate photos of the same room and then stitch them together in one long photo. We had to use the different tools in gimp to change and modify the pictures so that they looked like they all matched.

From this assignment I learned how to use different tools in Gimp, such as, the perspective and eraser tool more effectively. I also learned that when taking panoramic pictures you should try to make sure they have as little lines as possible because that makes it a lot easier to make match up ans stitch together.

Photography Assignment 3 (Nature)

In this assignment I had to take a picture that says something about nature and the landscape we live in. Since we live in Michigan and it is snowy I tried to capture Michigan nature covered in snow.

Shutter Speed=1/1000
ISO= 80
Aperture= f/4

 In this assignment I learned that using an overcast lighting is a lot more effective than using lighting when the sun is at it's highest and brightest. I also learned that there are a lot of cool things to take pictures of, you just have to be ready and willing to find and capture them in a picture.

Portrait Assignment

In this assignment we had to use natural lighting and studio lighting and take portraits. The pictures are supposed to convey the personality of the people in them.

In this assignment I learned that it can be hard getting the right lighting and amount of light in a picture, especially a portrait. I also learned that it is hard to get people to do something besides just smile so it can be hard to show their personality through the picture.
